Mahesh Babu and S.S. Rajamouli’s epic adventure, titled ‘Varanasi’, has been unveiled at a grand launch event in Hyderabad. The highly anticipated film is a follow-up to the Academy Award-winning ‘RRR’, and features a stellar cast including Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
The event was a spectacle, with 50,000 fans chanting ‘Jai Babu, Jai Jai Babu’ in the cool night air above Ramoji Film City. The atmosphere was electric as the title reveal was accompanied by a performance of the popular ‘Sanchaari’ track, composed by M.M. Keeravani, who also introduced the main antagonist Kumbha, played by Sukumaran.
The footage, played on a giant LED screen, showcased a visually stunning film spanning thousands of years, from ancient times to the modern day. One of the sequences is inspired by a chapter from the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’, which Rajamouli described as one of the most memorable in his films.
The cast and crew, including Chopra Jonas and Sukumaran, praised the film’s ambition and the team’s dedication to bringing Indian cinema to the world. Mahesh Babu, the star of the show, promised to make everyone proud, especially his director, and expressed his excitement for the project.
The film is being produced under the banner of Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business, and the first footage is available for viewing. ‘Varanasi’ is set to be a groundbreaking addition to Indian cinema, with its epic scale and captivating storytelling.
