Georgia Football Injury Report: Who’s In and Who’s Out vs. Charlotte

Georgia Bulldogs’ injury report vs. Charlotte: Key players to watch out for ahead of the Week 13 game.

The Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for their final home game of the regular season, hosting Charlotte on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network. With a 9-1 record and 7-1 in the SEC, the Bulldogs are fresh off a 35-10 victory over Texas, while Charlotte, with a 1-9 record and 0-7 in the AAC, is coming off a 28-7 loss to UTSA.

As tight end Oscar Delp explained, the motivation for the Bulldogs this week is clear: it’s Senior Day.

“It’s simple: It’s Senior Day this week,” Delp said. “When I was younger, and those older guys were playing their Senior Day, it didn’t matter who you were playing. You want to set them off the right way, so I think that’s going to juice everyone up this week, and we’re excited. I’m excited, and, you know, for it to be possibly my last game in Sanford. It’s going to mean a lot to me.”

The Bulldogs aim to extend their winning streak to seven games after their victory over Texas. Gunner Stockton threw two fourth-down touchdowns and rushed for another, while the defense shut down the Longhorns, holding them scoreless in the final 20:27 of the game.

However, the Bulldogs face some injury concerns ahead of their final home game. Here’s the latest on the key players who are questionable or out.

RUNNING BACK CHAUNCEY BOWENS (QUESTIONABLE)

Chauncey Bowens, who suffered an injury in the fourth quarter of the Texas game, is questionable for Saturday’s game. Head coach Kirby Smart described his condition as day-to-day, with hopes of a return.

Bowens, a second-year back, has been a key part of the Bulldogs’ running back duo with Nate Frazier. Through 10 games, Bowens has carried the ball 94 times for 493 yards and 6 touchdowns.

WIDE RECEIVER COLBIE YOUNG (OUT)

Colbie Young may have played his last snap as a Georgia Bulldog after suffering a leg fracture during the first quarter of the Ole Miss game. Young, who is second on the team in receptions (23) and receiving yards (336), will be out for an extended period.

WIDE RECEIVER TALYN TAYLOR (DOUBTFUL)

Talyn Taylor, who has been out since Week 6 with an upper-body injury, is making progress but remains questionable. Taylor has appeared in Georgia’s first four games this season, with 2 receptions for 28 yards.

TIGHT END ETHAN BARBOUR (OUT)

Ethan Barbour, who suffered an ankle injury against Austin Peay in Week 2, will require surgery and will be out for an extended period.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE CHRISTEN MILLER (PROBABLE)

Christen Miller, who briefly left the game against Texas but returned in the second half, is expected to play against Charlotte. Miller has been a key player on the defensive line, starting all 10 games this season with 17 tackles and 0.5 sacks.

DEFENSIVE TACKLE JORDAN HALL (OUT)

Jordan Hall, who suffered a knee injury against Florida, is expected to miss the rest of the season. Hall, who has played in only six games this year due to leg injuries, started the first eight games as the Bulldogs’ nose tackle.

INSIDE LINEBACKER CJ ALLEN (OUT)

CJ Allen, who suffered an apparent knee injury, is listed as week-to-week. Allen, a junior, has started all 10 games this season and leads the team in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks.

CORNERBACK ONDRE EVANS (OUT)

Ondre Evans, a redshirt freshman who tore his ACL in spring practice, is out for the season. Evans was not present among the defensive backs during pre-game warm-ups.

SAFETY KYRON JONES (OUT)

Kyron Jones, who suffered a foot injury during the Ole Miss game, is expected to be out indefinitely. Jones started Georgia’s first six games this season, recording 24 tackles.

The Bulldogs will need to overcome these injuries and stay focused on their goal of a successful season.
